A useful fit for

A cordless powered washer for buyers who want two steam intensities on suitable indoor hard floors and accept app-selected suction plus tank, roller and filter care.

The main tradeoff

Not for carpet, upholstery or above-floor detail work. Steam/SUCTION are separate modes, suction selection uses the app with Wi-Fi, steam runtime is a manufacturer estimate of about 20 minutes, and no exact standalone store SKU or current offer was confirmed.

Your needs, this model

Does it fit your priorities?

Can one cordless hard-floor washer offer steam and liquid pickup without claiming they run at once?

Yes, as separate selectable modes: the manual describes STEAM/BOOST STEAM on the appliance and SUCTION through the app when Wi-Fi is connected. It does not document simultaneous steam extraction.

Does the manual’s approximate 20-minute STEAM/BOOST STEAM estimate meet a 20-minute minimum, but not 21?

Tineco’s manual estimates approximately 20 minutes in STEAM/BOOST STEAM. This is a manufacturer lab estimate, not an independently measured or guaranteed result.

Is an app-free SUCTION control essential?

The exact manual says to select SUCTION using the Tineco app when Wi-Fi is connected. If a physical appliance-only control is essential, this documented configuration does not meet that requirement.

The Tineco FLOOR ONE S7 Steam is a cordless powered floor washer with a steam setting, not a boiler-and-hose steamer. Its exact manual limits use to indoor, non-carpeted hard floors and describes AUTO, STEAM, BOOST STEAM and app-selected SUCTION modes. It suits a household that wants to wash a permitted hard floor with a powered roller and can accept charging, two tanks and post-cleaning care.

It is a floor washer first

The S7 Steam uses a powered roller with separate clean- and dirty-water tanks. Tineco lists about 0.8 L for clean water and 0.72 L for recovered water. Those are washer reservoirs, not a pressurized boiler volume. The kit lists the main unit, charging dock, dry filter, cleaning tool and an extra brush roller; it does not document a hose, glass squeegee, handheld nozzle or carpet tool. If your regular work includes shower glass, upholstery, curtains, grout detail or stair edges, a canister steamer such as the McCulloch MC1275 is a different and more suitable arrangement.

This distinction also changes the routine. A conventional pad mop heats water and moves a cloth over the floor. The S7 combines a powered brush roller, water delivery, suction and a steam system, with mode choices on the appliance and, for SUCTION, in the app. It is not an all-surface steam cleaner, and the product page's general “wet and dry” language should not be read as a promise of carpet extraction.

Two steam settings, but a shorter steam claim

The exact US product page advertises two steam modes. The manual names them STEAM and BOOST STEAM: STEAM sends vapor through six openings, while BOOST STEAM uses two openings for a concentrated, heavier-soil route. The manual gives roughly 20–50 seconds for steam preparation and estimates about 20 minutes of operation in either steam mode. AUTO is a separate ordinary floor-washing mode, for which Tineco's page lists 40 minutes. Both durations are manufacturer lab estimates, not independently timed results or promises for a particular floor.

Do not confuse this with the similarly named FLOOR ONE S7 Stretch Steam. That is a separate configuration: its own manual documents AUTO, MAX, STEAM and SUCTION, and its design is explicitly 180-degree lay-flat. The S7 Steam manual instead warns against laying the appliance flat or leaning it because dirty water could reach the motor. The extra “Stretch” in the name is a consequential identity clue, not a harmless title variation.

Liquid pickup is not a third steam setting

The S7 manual describes SUCTION as a way to absorb water from a wet surface, selected in the Tineco app when Wi-Fi is connected. That is useful if you want a recovery mode after washing, but it means app access is part of this particular operating plan. Steam and SUCTION are different selections; the manual does not describe a simultaneous steam-and-extraction pass. If you require suction control on the machine itself or one pass that demonstrably steams while recovering liquid, treat that as an unmet need rather than assuming it from the presence of both tanks.

Check the floor, water and storage conditions

Tineco's manual restricts the machine to indoor, non-carpeted floors, with examples such as vinyl, tile and sealed wood. That is not permission for every finish or installation: check the floor maker's heat and moisture instructions, especially for wood, laminate, seams or older coatings. The manual says to use tap water below 140°F/60°C and to add no chemicals or additives. Its self-cleaning cycle is dock-based and depends on water and battery conditions; it does not remove the need to empty the dirty-water tank and clean the roller, cover and filter.

After use, the manual calls for the waste tank to be cleaned and washable parts to be dried completely to limit odor and preserve suction. The included dry filter must be installed and fully dry. The machine charges on its dock; the manual estimates four to five hours for a full charge. Tineco lists 13.54 lb as weight, but does not define that as a full, water-filled carrying weight. Check the actual lift and docking footprint if stairs or a narrow cupboard matter.

Who should choose it?

Choose the S7 Steam if you want cordless wet floor washing with two selectable steam intensities, have only suitable hard floors in mind and are comfortable selecting SUCTION in the app. Skip it for carpet, rugs, upholstery, detailed above-floor jobs, a lay-flat reach requirement, app-free suction control or a long uninterrupted steam session. A boiler canister or pad mop may be simpler if you do not need recovery tanks. If comparing it with the S7 Stretch Steam or S9 Artist Steam, compare each exact model's mode names, manual and runtime basis rather than shopping by the shared S7/S9 family name. Search using the full “FLOOR ONE S7 Steam” name and verify that the seller's model and package match; do not substitute the Stretch Steam version.
