A useful fit for

A larger permitted indoor session with flow adjustment at the working grip and documented floor, detail and glass tools.

The main tradeoff

The floor-bristle attachment must not be used with a floor pad. Larger capacity does not allow refilling a hot boiler; assembled carrying mass is unconfirmed.

Your needs, this model

Does it fit your priorities?

Can I change flow at the grip while cleaning permitted glass?

Yes. The flow knob is on the steam nozzle and the current package explicitly supplies the nine-inch squeegee.

Does it meet a sixty-four-ounce nominal capacity requirement?

Yes. The fill amount is sixty-four ounces; it does not establish any larger minimum or guaranteed session length.

Can a larger boiler be refilled during use?

No. Its lockable output and larger reservoir do not remove the safe pressure-release and cooling procedure.

The McCulloch MC1385 suits a longer indoor cleaning route where a larger reservoir and steam adjustment at the working grip are useful. Its 64-ounce fill, supplied squeegee and collapsible carrying handle distinguish the package from the smaller canisters. It still needs complete cooling before a refill, so choose it to make one fill go further rather than to obtain uninterrupted top-ups.

The larger fill matters only if the route needs it

The current MC1385 package lists a 64-ounce reservoir, compared with 48 ounces for MC1275 and MC1375. That is a concrete difference when you are planning several permitted tasks before stopping. It matters less if most jobs are short details and the boiler is emptied after each use. A larger fill also means more water to manage; it is not a reason to assume easier carrying.

McCulloch advertises up to two hours of steam and a twelve-minute heat-up. Treat those figures as planning references. They do not promise two hours of work at every output setting or include the time spent switching cooled tools and wiping loosened dirt. If quick, frequent kitchen touch-ups are the main job, consider whether a smaller or faster-heating format better fits when you actually clean.

Flow adjustment stays near your working hand

The current guide places the adjustment knob on the steam nozzle, alongside the trigger and its continuing-steam lock. That is useful when you want to alter output without returning to the canister. The MC1375 provides variable steam too, but its guide puts the adjustment on the body. Choose between those control locations based on where the body will sit during your cleaning route.

Both models have a reservoir pressure gauge. It reports boiler pressure, not the cleaning result on a surface, and it does not replace the instructions for opening the cap. The MC1385's eighteen-foot cord and current seven-foot steam hose also perform different jobs. Place the canister where the hose can reach without tension, instead of adding cord and hose figures together as an unrestricted working radius.

The floor cloth and bristle attachment are alternatives

The supplied large floor head accepts a microfiber or scrubbing mop pad. A separate bristle attachment provides another documented floor setup. The guide specifically prohibits using that bristle attachment with either pad. A shopper wanting both capabilities can obtain them in the box, but must use them in separate setups rather than expect a cloth-covered brush combination.

For detail work, the kit includes small nylon and brass brushes, an angled nozzle, scraper and triangle/large brush arrangement. Use brass only on a suitable durable target; an aggressive brush can damage painted wood or stainless finishes. Consult the target appliance's care instructions and keep steam away from electrical components. These checks determine whether a tool is useful more reliably than the advertised count of twenty-three accessories.

A documented squeegee gives glass a specific route

The nine-inch squeegee is explicitly listed in this exact model guide. That is a useful distinction from MC1375's documented twenty-piece kit, where squeegee inclusion is not established. If shower glass is one of the reasons for buying, an actual supplied glass tool is more valuable than a general picture of steam near a window.

Glass still has its own care limits, just as floors do. Follow the cleaner's and surface maker's instructions rather than moving directly from a brass-brush detail job to a delicate surface with the same attachment. Loosened grime also needs removal with the appropriate cloth or wiping tool; this is not a vacuum extractor that collects dirty water into a recovery tank.

Refilling and storage remain part of the session

The pressure-sensitive cap is designed not to engage while the unit is hot or pressurized. Follow the shutdown, unplugging, pressure-release and complete-cooling procedure before opening it. Never force or defeat a spinning cap. “Continuous steam” describes delivery from the existing fill; it does not authorize adding water to a hot boiler.

The current safety leaflet requires distilled water and no added cleaning agents. It also limits use to indoor US household cleaning. For floors, the guide excludes unsealed wood and unglazed ceramic, warns about waxed finishes and requires keeping the head moving even on permitted sealed wood. Check the flooring maker's instructions first. Empty the cooled reservoir after use and give washed pads time to dry.

When this package earns its extra space

Choose MC1385 for the larger nominal fill, grip-mounted flow control and explicit squeegee when several indoor tasks justify storing a canister and accessory bag. Its integrated handle collapses for storage, but the exact assembled carrying mass remains unconfirmed here. Choose MC1375 when the smaller fill and body adjustment are enough, or MC1275 for simpler on-demand controls with its own supplied glass tool. Require a different documented refill system if cooling between fills would prevent you finishing the job.
