A useful fit for

A floor-first choice for washable sealed hard floors when the upright format, three handle-selected stages, at-any-time top-up and separate carpet-refresh option all fit the intended routine.

The main tradeoff

It is not a canister with detail tools, a carpet extractor, or a vacuum-mop. Carpet use is a carefully limited refresh pass; confirmed carrying weight and cord length are unavailable because the inspected sources do not agree or do not state them.

Your needs, this model

Does it fit your priorities?

Is an upright cloth floor pass enough, or do you also require separate hand-detail tools?

It has a documented cloth floor setup. It does not establish a hand-detail arrangement, so a floor-plus-detail requirement points to a different configuration.

Explore this need in the finder →
Would a separate glider pass suit you if you want to refresh compatible carpet rather than extract liquid?

The supplied carpet glider can refresh compatible, pre-vacuumed carpet at the manual’s middle steam stage after a spot test. It has no liquid-recovery tank and is not a carpet wash.

Explore this need in the finder →
Do you want to add plain tap water during cleaning, with a 17-ounce nominal tank?

The manual permits refilling its removable 0.5-liter reservoir at any time and specifies tap water. The volume is modest and is not a whole-house runtime promise.

Explore this need in the finder →
Are three selectable steam stages at the handle enough for your adjustment need?

The manual documents three discrete floor-type stages selected at the handle. A stricter minimum of four levels is not met; there is no continuously variable dial.

The Kärcher SC 3 Upright EasyFix, U.S. order number 1.513-305.0, is a floor-first steam mop rather than a small canister with detail tools. Its useful combination is an upright cloth head, three handle-selected steam stages, a removable reservoir that can be topped up at any time, and a separate carpet-refreshing glider. That is a clearer fit for washable floors than for kitchens full of vertical details, upholstery, or spills that need to be extracted.

A distinct Upright package, not the EasyFix canister

Kärcher lists the SC 3 Upright EasyFix separately from the SC 3 EasyFix canister. The current U.S. page names the exact 1.513-305.0 configuration, and the linked North American manual identifies the SC 3 Upright EasyFix. The Upright's narrow mission matters: it does not turn into a handheld machine and its package does not establish the hand nozzle, small detail brush, or long extension tubes supplied with the SC 3 EasyFix canister. If you expect to clean faucets, appliance seams, or glass as part of the same session, the canister's separate attachments make it the better shape to consider.

Three surface choices, with a short start-up

The operating control is on the handle. Its three preset stages are labeled for wood, carpet, and tile or stone; they are discrete settings, not an unlimited dial. The linked manual says the mop starts at the maximum tile/stone stage and reaches ready status in about 30 seconds when that stage is selected. Lower settings can take longer to heat. For a sealed wood floor, select the low wood setting rather than leaving the default maximum in place. For tile and stone, the highest stage is available. This small bit of setup is more consequential than the headline heat-up number.

The manual names washable stone, tile, PVC, and sealed wooden coverings such as parquet and laminate, but also tells you to check heat and moisture on an inconspicuous patch at the lowest steam volume. It warns against unsealed wood, painted or plastic-coated surfaces, and glued laminate edges. Sweep or vacuum loose grit first; this is wet steam wiping, not a dry-debris pickup system. Follow the floor maker's care guidance instead of treating a general product claim as permission for every finish.

The carpet glider is a refresher, not extraction

The exact U.S. product-information sheet lists a carpet glider, a descaling cartridge, and a set of microfiber floor cloths as included equipment. For a carpet pass, the manual has you fit the cloth to the floor nozzle and slide that assembly into the glider. It assigns carpet the middle steam stage. Vacuum first, remove stains beforehand, test a hidden spot, and avoid deep-pile carpet. The instructions also warn against holding steam on one point for more than five seconds. This can refresh a compatible rug; it cannot lift liquid, rinse a stain, or recover dirty water the way an extractor does.

Top-ups are easy; the reservoir stays modest

The removable tank holds 0.5 liter, or 17 U.S. fluid ounces, and the manufacturer says it can be filled at any time without interrupting the work. The water level is visible, so topping up is simpler than waiting for a sealed boiler to cool. Kärcher's U.S. guidance calls for plain tap water with its decalcification cartridge; the manual also prohibits detergent, scents, collected rainwater, and clothes-dryer condensate. Set the hardness level for your local water before first use and heed the cartridge indicator. A half-liter tank suits shorter floor sections or a home where stopping to refill is acceptable, not a guaranteed whole-house runtime. The manual's stated steam rate is not a runtime promise, so I do not convert one into the other.

Weight needs a source check

The linked manual lists the machine at 6.83 pounds without accessories, while Kärcher's U.S. comparison chart lists 7.2 pounds without accessories for the same 1.513-305.0 model. Those primary sources disagree, so neither figure is used to claim a strict carrying-weight limit; the assembled carry weight remains unconfirmed here. The manual gives body dimensions of 12.36 by 8.15 by 46.65 inches. It does not establish a floor-head width or a power-cord length in the sources checked, so a tight storage opening or distant outlet should be measured against the actual unit rather than guessed from a catalog picture.

Who should consider it?

This is a sensible candidate when the main job is a compatible sealed hard floor, you prefer an upright push-and-pull mop, and you want a separate, carefully limited rug-refresh pass without adding detergent. It is a poor match if you need above-floor detail work, carpet extraction, a large accessory assortment, a verified long cord, or a hard weight cap. A buyer who wants canister tools should compare the SC 3 EasyFix instead; someone who requires dirty-water pickup needs a floor washer or extractor rather than a steam mop. For questionnaire choices, the Upright can satisfy a floor-pad route or a separate carpet-glider route, and its three-step handle control and at-any-time top-up are documented. A detail-tool requirement, liquid recovery, distilled-water requirement, or strict weight threshold should send you elsewhere.

Controls and operationThree discrete steam stages are selected by a button on the handle: stage 1 for wood, stage 2 for carpet, and stage 3 for tile/stone. This is selectable output, not a continuously variable dial. The manual says the device starts at the maximum tile/stone stage; its 30-second start time is stated for stage 3, and lower settings can take longer.
Supplied tools and setupsThe exact order-number information sheet marks the floor cloth set, descaling cartridge and carpet glider as included. The two valid plans are a cloth-covered floor-nozzle pass and a separate cloth-covered carpet-glider refresh pass. No hand-detail or liquid-recovery setup is established.
Water and careThe manual calls for tap water with the installed descaling cartridge and forbids detergents, other additives, collected rainwater and clothes-dryer condensate. Set the hardness to local supply and follow the cartridge indicator. Use manufacturer-listed washable surfaces only after an inconspicuous heat/moisture test at minimum steam.
