A useful fit for

A larger wheeled canister when long claimed sessions, long hose reach, a pressure/temperature display and adjustable output are valuable enough to justify size and refill downtime.

The main tradeoff

The product table lists 4 liters of boiler volume, while the U.S. manual sets a 1.8-liter maximum fill. Follow the manual; exact usable capacity remains unresolved.

Your needs, this model

Does it fit your priorities?

Does the Tosca fit a canister routine that needs a glass pass as well as a floor setup?

The exact 25-piece kit includes a floor tool and a window tool; use them as separate arrangements and only on compatible surfaces.

Are the display and adjustable steam pressure part of the exact model?

Yes. Dupray documents an Accurate Digital Interface showing temperature and pressure and adjustable pressure output.

Can water be topped up while the boiler is operating?

No. The exact Tosca manual calls for the boiler to be switched off, cooled for at least ten minutes and depressurized before opening for refill.

The Dupray Tosca is a large, wheeled canister for users who want an extended steam session, digital temperature/pressure information and a broad accessory kit for home or professional jobs. Its 26-pound published weight, 15-amp electrical demand and conflicting published-versus-manual water-volume figures make it a more deliberate purchase than a compact household boiler.

A heavier canister with a different control and reach profile

Dupray’s current U.S. listing calls the Tosca commercial-grade but explicitly presents it for home or work use. It lists a stainless-steel boiler, enamel-coated steel body, a digital Accurate Digital Interface, adjustable steam pressure and a 25-piece accessory package. The published figures include steam up to 316°F and 72.5 psi, up to 90 minutes of cleaning, and about seven minutes of heating. Those are manufacturer specifications and runtime claims, not a comparative laboratory test or a promise that every accessory produces those conditions at its surface.

The 9-foot-10-inch hose and 14-foot-9-inch cord allow a broader working setup than the six-foot-six-inch hose on Dupray’s compact Neat family. The unit itself is about 26 pounds and 10.5 by 13 by 16.5 inches. The wheels help move it on a level floor, but they do not make it a sensible choice if it must be carried up stairs, stored in a small closet or lifted into a vehicle. Measure the storage area and route before choosing a machine of this size. The 1,600-watt, 120-volt specification and 15-amp rating also matter when planning a circuit; the manual warns against running another high-wattage appliance on the same circuit.

Capacity needs a manual-first answer

The current product table lists a 1.05-gallon/4-liter boiler volume, but the instruction manual tells the operator to fill with up to 0.5 gallon/1.8 liters and leave steam space. The manual’s refill procedure says to switch the boiler off, allow ten minutes to cool, release remaining pressure through the trigger, and only then open the cap. That is a substantial discrepancy, not a detail to smooth over. For safe operation follow the manual’s maximum fill and refill instructions; the published vessel-volume figure must not be used to promise usable water capacity or calculate a minimum tank size. If a usable capacity is essential to your choice, resolve the exact unit/manual edition with Dupray before ordering.

This is not a continuous-refill configuration. A buyer who strongly needs a top-up during a working pass should compare the Neat Plus or Hill Injection, whose manuals describe refill while operating. The Tosca’s up-to-90-minute claim still distinguishes it from shorter compact-boiler claims, but its refill wait is important for a large uninterrupted job. The listed run time should be read as a maker claim under its stated setup, not a guaranteed result under every pressure setting, attachment or work pattern.

Accessory breadth is useful only when the material fits

Dupray lists a floor tool, lance, window tool, triangle tool, extension pieces, brushes and microfiber accessories among the Tosca’s 25 pieces. That gives the owner more than a floor-only mop: it can be arranged for a cloth-covered floor pass, concentrated detail work, compatible glass or selected fabrics. Each is a separate setup. A brush intended for durable grout is not a safe default for delicate surfaces, and a cloth bonnet is not a license to steam unsealed leather, unfinished wood or an unknown fabric coating.

The manual’s cautions are more useful than a broad “all surfaces” list. It warns that heat and moisture can damage or discolor sensitive materials, recommends checking with the surface maker, and advises testing in a hidden place. Do not use steam on unsealed, worn or unfinished wood or tile, and avoid lingering with a wet pad on one spot. Even a sealed floor can have vulnerable seams, adhesives or finish treatments. For any surface that is not explicitly approved, follow that material’s own care instructions instead.

Who should choose Tosca?

The Tosca fits a household or small-work setting where broad hose reach, a display and long claimed session are valuable enough to accept bulk, electrical planning and refill downtime. It is not automatically a better home cleaner because its pressure and temperature specifications exceed those of a compact model. A Neat Plus is easier to store and refill while in use; a Neat costs less complexity in a compact one-fill arrangement; Hill Injection adds a separate water top-up system and detergent injection but weighs still more and is built around a different task profile. A light floor mop is more practical if you never use the lance, glass tool or brushes.

Before purchase, confirm that the exact model is the U.S. 120-volt version, that the correct 25-piece kit is in the carton, and that the water instructions match your manual revision. Do not infer a professional certification or independent performance score from its commercial-grade wording. Check Dupray’s warranty terms and support materials for the exact product. This review assesses the manufacturer-listed current U.S. model; it does not claim hands-on ownership or third-party test results.

Manufacturer basis: Dupray’s Tosca U.S. product page, support page and instruction manual. The product page specifies a 4-liter vessel volume while the manual gives a 1.8-liter maximum fill; the operational guidance here follows the manual and leaves capacity-based matching unresolved. A full accessory list does not establish that every material is steam-safe.
