A useful fit for

A home canister for separate permitted floor, detail, window and compatible-fabric passes when a single boiler fill is enough for the session.

The main tradeoff

The product page lists a 54-ounce boiler volume while the manual caps filling at 40 ounces; use the manual maximum. It also needs a cool-down before refilling, and certain older batches are covered by a safety-cap recall.

Your needs, this model

Does it fit your priorities?

Can one wheeled canister cover your floor and small-detail jobs with tool changes?

The exact U.S. 17-piece package includes a floor tool and separate lance/brush tools. The passes are separate and each surface must permit steam.

Do you want the manufacturer-recommended demineralized-water option?

The current Neat FAQ permits ordinary tap water and the manual recommends distilled or demineralized water to reduce deposits; only clean water belongs in the boiler.

Must the cleaner accept a water top-up without a boiler cooling pause?

No. The Neat manual requires releasing pressure and waiting at least 20 minutes before opening its boiler; the Neat Plus is a better fit if in-session refilling is essential.

The Dupray Neat is a wheeled canister steam cleaner for people who want to move between floor, grout, kitchen, bathroom, window and upholstery jobs with one tool set. Its main tradeoff is the familiar pressurized-boiler routine: plan for a slower first heat and a cooling pause before refilling, rather than treating it like a continuously topped-up unit.

One base machine, several distinct passes

Dupray’s current U.S. page lists a 17-piece kit with a floor tool, lance, triangular tool, window tool, extension tubes, brushes, pads and cloths. This is more useful than a bare floor-only mop when your routine includes detailed grout or a glass pass, but the accessories require deliberate changes. Use the floor tool with its cloth or microfiber pad on an approved floor; fit a suitable brush to the lance for small durable details; use the window attachment only where both glass and temperature conditions allow. The triangular tool and bonnet are the documented route for compatible fabrics. These are separate setups, not simultaneous capabilities of one head.

The product page describes a 54-ounce boiler, up to 50 minutes of cleaning time, up to 275°F steam and 50 psi. The manual, however, instructs a maximum fill of 40 ounces. Those numbers describe different things only if Dupray has deliberately separated nominal vessel volume from usable fill, and the supplied material does not explain that difference. For safe use, follow the manual’s 40-ounce fill limit; do not use the product-table capacity to decide how much water to pour in or to claim a certain room coverage per fill. The manual estimates about eight minutes to reach its initial optimal steam amount. The up-to-50-minute figure is the manufacturer’s claim, not a measured session result.

Refill time is the meaningful Neat-versus-Plus choice

The Neat’s boiler cannot be opened for a quick top-up during a cleaning session. The manual says to switch it off, release the remaining steam, wait at least 20 minutes for cooling, then refill. That interruption is the strongest reason to choose the Neat Plus instead: its separate water tank is designed to be refilled while the unit is operating. The Neat is still a reasonable fit if your tasks naturally break into shorter sessions, the longer warm-up is acceptable, and the simpler one-fill boiler arrangement suits you. If continuous refilling matters, this is not the Dupray model to buy.

Water guidance also needs a careful read. The Neat manual recommends distilled or demineralized water to reduce mineral deposits, and the current FAQ says ordinary tap water may be used but distilled water is preferable in very hard-water areas. Only clean water belongs in the boiler; detergent, vinegar and fragrance additives are not a substitute for the manufacturer’s instructions. Test the chosen water and maintenance advice against the current manual for the exact unit you receive.

Surface suitability is not solved by a larger accessory kit

Dupray identifies floors, tile, grout, bathrooms, windows, upholstery and car interiors as possible applications, but steam remains a poor fit for unsealed, waxed, damaged or heat-sensitive surfaces. Its manual warns against unsealed wood, worn or unfinished flooring, wax-treated surfaces and delicate fabrics. Even a surface marketed as “sealed” does not prove that its seams, adhesive, coating or finish tolerates repeated heat and moisture. Check the surface maker’s care advice, test an inconspicuous spot, and keep a wet pad moving rather than parking steam in one place. Do not take the manufacturer’s broad application list as permission to steam every material in those categories.

At roughly nine pounds, the Neat is listed as a portable canister, with a 16-foot electrical cord and a six-foot-six-inch hose. Those figures help with outlet planning and storage; they do not establish carrying comfort or practical reach around a particular room. Its 17 attachments are useful only if you can store, identify and clean them. The window squeegee, brushes and cloth tools are distinct consumables and working arrangements, so a buyer who only mops sealed floors may be better served by a simpler upright steam mop.

What changes in the Dupray bundles

The Neat plus Awesome Bag bundle is the same cleaner with a fitted storage/carrying bag; the bag does not change steam, refill or floor capability. The Steam Cleaning Pack Pro bundle keeps the same machine and adds a felt accessory bag, four microfiber cloths, three bonnets, and additional nylon, brass, stainless-steel and horsehair brushes. That pack is worthwhile only when its extra consumables match your jobs; it is not a different boiler or a new floor tool. The Neat-and-Voilà bundle adds a second appliance: Voilà is a separate 1,200-watt, 200-milliliter handheld garment steamer that its own page says is ready in about 30 seconds. It is not a Neat attachment. Choose that bundle only if you want both surface cleaning and a separate clothing-steaming device. Check the exact bundle carton, because a page for the base model does not prove what a marketplace seller includes.

Manufacturer basis: Dupray’s exact U.S. Neat product page, Neat manual and recall notice, plus the exact bundle listings and Steam Cleaning Pack Pro page. The 54-ounce product-page figure conflicts with the manual’s 40-ounce maximum fill; this review follows the manual for operation and leaves capacity-dependent matching unresolved. Some older DUP020WNA batch codes are subject to Dupray’s voluntary safety-cap recall; owners should check the rating label and batch code on the official recall page. Dupray says current units ship with the updated cap, but used-product buyers should verify the remedy before use.
