A useful fit for

Consider it when a household will use separate sealed-floor, small-detail and care-label-approved fabric setups and values the included SteamGlove.

The main tradeoff

The accessory-rich package requires cool-down and tool changes. SmartSelect is disabled while the SteamGlove is attached, and the 17-fl-oz reservoir cannot be topped up during a powered pass.

Your needs, this model

Does it fit your priorities?

Do you want floor, handheld detail and a dedicated compatible-fabric tool in one exact package?

The exact HSMC1361SGP kit includes floor pads, handheld tools, SteamGlove and a separate fabric-steamer base/distributor/lint-brush setup. Change attachments only after the required shutdown and cooling steps.

Would a 17-fl-oz clean-tap-water reservoir suit separate cleaning sessions?

The shared North American manual specifies 17 fl oz / 0.5 L and clean tap water; it recommends de-ionized water in very hard-water areas. It does not support topping up during an active pass.

Can you accept tool changes, cool-down and a refill only after disconnecting power?

The manual requires the unit to be disconnected for filling or emptying and cooled before changing accessories. The SteamGlove setup also disables SmartSelect while attached.

The BLACK+DECKER HSMC1361SGP is the more accessory-rich convertible SteamMop in this small family. Its exact U.S. package adds a wearable SteamGlove and a separate fabric-steamer assembly to the floor mop, detachable hand unit, hose and detail tools. Those extras are useful only if you want separate textile and surface-cleaning setups; they do not turn the cleaner into a carpet washer, vacuum or steam iron station.

What the SGP package adds

The manufacturer describes the HSMC1361SGP as a 7-in-1 SteamMop with SteamGlove. Its U.S. included-item list names the two-in-one mop/handheld body, SteamGlove and two glove pads, two floor pads, accessory hose, adjustable nozzle, small plastic brush, grout brush, copper brush, fabric steamer and accessory bag. The North American manual cover names the exact HSMC1361SGP alongside HSMC1321 and illustrates the shared convertible mop structure. The SGP is still a corded mop/handheld platform at heart, but its supplied kit broadens the number of separate setups it can support.

Use the floor head with a clean microfiber pad on sealed floors only when the flooring manufacturer permits steam. Sweep or vacuum grit first and keep the head moving. For small detail tasks, unplug, let the machine cool, remove the handheld unit and fit the relevant hose-mounted brush, jet or squeegee; these are alternate arrangements rather than a simultaneous floor-and-counter mode. The SteamGlove is a distinct wearable mode with its own pad. The manual requires the hand to be inside the protective glove, warns against using it by gripping it externally and provides a quick-release tab. It also says the SmartSelect dial is disabled while the glove is attached, so do not assume you can adjust steam flow in that particular mode.

The garment tool is a real package difference

The included fabric steamer consists of a base, steam distributor and lint brush shown in the shared manual. BLACK+DECKER's instructions say it can steam clothes, linens and upholstery; they also say never to use it on clothing while worn and to test a hidden spot first. The metal distributor can burn, and the manual calls for a long cool-down before attaching or removing its hot parts. This is useful for a careful, separate fabric-refreshing pass, not a reason to expose every textile to steam. Check care labels and the fabric maker's limits; avoid delicate, synthetic or otherwise heat-sensitive material unless its instructions explicitly allow steam.

This is the clearest reason to pick the SGP over the exact HSMC1321. The HSMC1321 page lists a squeegee and small brushes but not the SteamGlove or fabric-steamer set. The SGP also differs from the BHSM15FX08, which is a distinct detachable package without this garment attachment; the BHSM15FX10 includes a garment tool but uses the BHSM15 configuration and a different storage/package arrangement. The model suffix matters more than a broad “multi-purpose” label. Ask a seller to verify the exact carton and accessories rather than inferring that every related page image depicts the same bundle.

Controls, water and limitations

The manual documents SmartSelect hard-surface settings and a roughly 15-second heat-up, with up to 30 seconds to prime a dry system. The U.S. page has mixed promotional timing language, including both a 20-second start-up description and a “2 seconds to steam” line; I use the more conservative published 20-second figure for questionnaire matching, not the shortest slogan. It is not a promise of steam-ready time under every refill or room condition. The dial adjusts the ordinary floor/handheld output, but the manufacturer does not state a simple numeric count of flow levels. A shopper who requires a minimum number of independently verified settings should treat that fact as unknown.

The North American manual gives a 17-fluid-ounce (0.5-liter) tank and instructs the owner to use clean tap water; de-ionized water is recommended where water is very hard. Do not add detergent, fragrance or descaling products. Shut off and disconnect the appliance before filling or emptying, and empty the reservoir after each use. The manual does not support filling during an active pass. It provides no dependable runtime figure for the tank, so compare it with a larger refillable canister if long uninterrupted sessions are essential.

Its exact U.S. product page lists 120 volts and a 10-pound product weight, but does not define whether the weight covers a filled unit, attachments or a packed carton. I do not treat it as a confirmed assembled carrying weight or use its page dimensions as shelf-clearance measurements. The manual warns against unsealed and painted surfaces, waxed floors, leather and delicate steam-sensitive fabrics; test an isolated area and follow the substrate maker's guidance. It also describes indoor household use, not commercial or medical sanitation.

Who should consider it?

Choose this configuration when your ordinary routine genuinely includes sealed-floor steam, separate handheld detail work and a carefully selected fabric pass. In the questionnaire, the convertible-mop format with floor, detail and fabric coverage—and a supplied fabric-nozzle requirement—captures its meaningful difference. If you only need floor maintenance, the HSM13E1 avoids a collection of extra parts; if you want floor and detail tools without the fabric set, compare HSMC1321 or BHSM15FX08. Anyone who needs live refills, suction recovery, an explicitly guaranteed long runtime or adjustable SmartSelect output while wearing the SteamGlove should choose another operating arrangement.

Verify the exact BLACK+DECKER HSMC1361SGP U.S. listing and follow the shared North American HSMC1321/HSMC1361SGP manual. Neither page establishes retailer stock or the condition of a specific seller's carton.
