Your needs, this model
Does it fit your priorities?
Would one corded convertible mop also cover occasional handheld detail work?
The U.S. package is a convertible floor-mop/handheld body and lists a hose, small brush, grout brush, copper brush and squeegee. Floor and detail work use separate setups.
Explore this need in the finder →Is a 17-fl-oz tank with clean tap water acceptable?
The North American manual specifies clean tap water and a 17-fl-oz / 0.5-L reservoir; it recommends de-ionized water in very hard-water areas. Distilled water is not specified in the inspected manual.
Explore this need in the finder →Do you need the manufacturer-listed fabric-steamer attachment for clothing or upholstery?
The exact HSMC1321 package list does not include the separate fabric-steamer kit named for HSMC1361SGP. Choose a dedicated fabric nozzle only if the exact package and care-label limits suit the job.
Explore this need in the finder →Would the exact U.S. package squeegee support a separate window-glass pass?
The HSMC1321 U.S. page lists a small squeegee with pad. The manual treats the squeegee as a separate handheld setup; test the material and never use the pad on clothes being worn.
Explore this need in the finder →Do you need to refill the reservoir during an active steam pass?
No. The North American manual directs the owner to turn the unit off and disconnect power before opening the cap to refill. If in-use top-ups are essential, this package is not a fit.
Explore this need in the finder →The BLACK+DECKER HSMC1321 combines an upright steam mop with a removable handheld unit and a small set of detail tools. That makes it more flexible than a floor-only mop, but the useful distinction is still modest: it changes between a padded floor pass and a separate handheld attachment setup. It is not a cordless steamer, vacuum, carpet extractor or continuous-refill machine.
Two working arrangements, not five simultaneous tools
The exact U.S. product page calls the HSMC1321 a 5-in-1 SteamMop and portable steamer, while its headline describes a 2-in-1 mop/handheld design. Those labels are compatible if read as one steam body with floor and handheld arrangements plus the listed accessories—not as five independent powered tools. The package list names two mop pads, a small squeegee and pad, accessory hose, small detail brush, grout brush, copper brush and accessory bag. Each detail task means stopping to unplug, cool and change the attachment; the head does not vacuum up loosened dirt or dirty water.
For flooring, fit a clean microfiber pad, sweep or vacuum first, and move the mop slowly without leaving the hot head in one place. The North American manual describes sealed indoor tiles, stainless steel and wood, and says to check the surface maker's care directions. The product page uses broader sealed-surface language, but that should not override a floor maker's warning about heat or moisture. Unsealed or painted surfaces, waxed floors, leather, velvet and delicate steam-sensitive fabrics are called out as unsuitable. Test an inconspicuous area before committing to a larger surface.
The handheld setup suits bounded grout, hard-detail and compatible glass work using the supplied small tools or squeegee. It does not include the SteamGlove or garment-steamer attachment listed for the HSMC1361SGP. If textile steaming is a requirement, compare that exact model or the separate BHSM15FX10 package instead of treating the HSMC1321's hose and squeegee as a garment kit. For a simpler sealed-floor routine, the HSM13E1 is lighter in concept: it is a floor-only mop without this convertible hand unit.
Read the power and package evidence carefully
Do not buy this model expecting battery operation. Although one generated field on the U.S. product page says “Cordless” and the same field group mentions a battery count, the page headline says corded, the product page lists 120 volts and no battery is included, and the exact North American manual describes a polarized plug, wall outlet and power-cord handling. I treat the HSMC1321 as a corded appliance. The conflicting page fields are worth checking against the actual model label and seller listing, not repeating as a cordless feature.
The exact manual states a 17-fluid-ounce (0.5-liter) tank; the U.S. page's descriptive panel says “almost 20 oz.” I use the manual's more specific capacity rather than turning the marketing phrase into a larger guaranteed volume. The manual says to use clean tap water, recommends de-ionized water in very hard-water areas, forbids additives or chemicals, and tells the owner to disconnect power when filling or emptying. Empty the tank after use. A page claim of quick heat-up is not a runtime promise: the manual says roughly 15 seconds for startup and allows up to 30 seconds to prime a dry system. It gives no manufacturer runtime for a full reservoir.
The SmartSelect dial is a practical control for its listed hard-surface applications, but neither the exact manual nor the page gives a clear numeric count of independent steam-flow levels. The site therefore does not treat it as satisfying a minimum-level count. The page lists an 8.5-pound product weight, but does not define whether that is a dry, assembled or packaged measurement; I would not use it as a confirmed carrying-weight limit. The same caution applies to measurements without a stated assembly reference.
Who should choose it?
Consider the HSMC1321 if one corded plug-in tool will alternate between sealed-floor maintenance and occasional small handheld detailing, and you are comfortable pausing for attachment changes and tank care. In the finder, the convertible-mop option plus floor-pad or detail-attachment pass describes its actual use; a required fabric nozzle, in-use refill, pressure gauge or dirty-water recovery should rule it out. The HSMC1361SGP is the more complete choice if its supplied SteamGlove and fabric attachment are useful, while the BHSM15FX08/FX10 are distinct detachable packages with their own included-tool differences. Keep the suffix on the exact offer in view: the HSMC1321's accessory list is not interchangeable with every related BLACK+DECKER kit.
For current identity and package details, see the BLACK+DECKER HSMC1321 product page and its North American instruction manual. Seller stock, carton condition and exact contents still need confirmation at purchase.
